Dare to Run in 2022: Celebrating the Milestones

In 2022, Dare to Run Celebrated many amazing milestones.

On June 6, 2022, Dare to Run celebrated 5 years of making a difference in the New York Community.  We gathered at Smithfield NYC, ate, and drank and discussed all the amazing work we are doing to train women to run for office.  We were delighted to have NYC Councilwoman Mercedes Narcisse of District 46 in Brooklyn attend as our guest speaker.  She talked about her ascension to public office, the challenges facing the residents in her district in Brooklyn, and what it's actually like serving on the NYC Council.

Fast Forward to December 14th, 2022, we hosted a Holiday Party at STITCH in Midtown Manhattan.  We had Councilwoman Gale Brewer and Councilwoman Marjorie Velazquez attend and address the crowd.  Councilwoman Brewer talked about her long stint as the Manhattan Borough President and her return to the City Council, and what that means for NY - and why you have to fight.  Councilwoman Velazquez proudly attended and supported all of the women who want to run for office - and shared with them her journey to public office.  It was a great event; we had food, drinks, raffles, and an Ugly Sweater Contest!  An amazing night in New York City.
